The Twist

With Alex & Kage | Saturdays and Sundays 2-5pm

The Twist is one of the afternoon weekend shows on Mellow 94.7. It runs from 2-5pm, Saturdays and Sundays. The Twist was born in late December 2008 but didn’t get its name til around January 2009. DJ Alex initially hosted the show solo and made sure to come up with the name that perfectly described her personality as well as how her show would go about – crazy, bubbly, and definitely twisted. DJ Kage, one of the former student DJs from Mellow 94.7′s School of Jocks, joined the show as DJ Alex’s partner in the latter part of January 2010.

The 3 hours of show are usually filled with awesome tracks and lots of interaction between the hosts of the show and the listeners since the Twist caters to song requests, greets, etc. Staple segments of the show include “Twisted Topic” and “Twisted in Hollywood News”. Twisted Topic is when the hosts throw out a random question that the listeners can opt to answer and have their responses read on the air. Twisted in Hollywood News is an informal entertainment segment that lets people in on the hottest and latest stories in Tinseltown.

DJ Alex and DJ Kage are of the same age, both being fresh college graduates this 2010. DJ Alex grew up in several different countries but settled in Manila to finish her high school and college. She is now a graduate of BA Organizational Communication at the University of the Philippines Manila, while DJ Kage is a BA Mass Communications graduate of SouthVille International College. Their varied tastes in music, colorful personalities, humor, wit, and constant playful bantering make the show all the more entertaining for their listeners.
